WallyIsland Luxury Yacht

WallyIsland Luxury Yacht
By Andrew Liszewski
While I’d really love to see one of these yachts in person some day, I have my doubts that will ever happen after looking at these concept renders. The whole thing looks to me like a grade 4 drawing assignment where the teacher asks you to design your own boat if you had an unlimited budget. Except of course here the color stays inside the lines.
The WallyIsland which is apparently still under development was designed with the idea of making a luxury yacht that was longer rather than taller in order to fit more amenities. Besides being more stable and cost-effective it also provides for an extremely large deck space. (Just over 10,700 square feet.) The boats will all be custom built of course which means you can configure that deck space any way you’d like. The company suggests such items as a swimming pool, tennis court, a garden with full-size trees or even a helipad. The back of the yacht is almost as spacious but seems to be reserved for storing two smaller sailboats as well as two additional powered boats that can be raised or lowered into the water via a pair of heavy-duty cranes.
Not surprisingly there is no list price for the WallyIsland at this time but I have requested a review unit so please check back later after I’ve had a chance to really put this craft through its paces..

LUXURY YACHTS

Foster + Partners - Yachtplus (Copyright Foster +Partners)Platinum, the world’s largest yacht, here in Dubai

For the city-country Monaco Foster + Partners has designed a yacht club that features a nautical iconography, to be more precise – that of a luxury yacht. The stepped decks, aerodynamic perimeter, fully glazed facades, and – off course – flags on the back. The building is mainly used as a stage, simultaneously for yacht-races at the seaside and the famous F1 Grand-Prix at the roadside. The decks are further programmed from the lower level upwards with shops, a rowing club and sailing school, then a clubroom, bar and restaurant, further up a ballroom, and to finish an apartment for the club secretary together with a series of cabins for visiting guests. The iconography and function of the building is similar to the stacked-decks-pavilion that David Chipperfield designed for the America Cup, in the city of Valencia.

what is tecnology

Nanotechnology, sometimes shortened to "Nanotech", refers to a field whose theme is the control of matter on an atomic and molecular scale. Generally nanotechnology deals with structures 100 nanometers or smaller, and involves developing materials or devices within that size.Nanotechnology is extremely diverse, ranging from novel extensions of conventional device physics, to completely new approaches based upon molecular self-assembly, to developing new materials with dimensions on the nanoscale, or the scale of nothing, even to speculation on whether we can directly control matter on the atomic scale. There has been much debate on the future of implications of nanotechnology. Nanotechnology has the potential to create many new materials and devices with wide-ranging applications, such as in medicine, electronics, and energy production. On the other hand, nanotechnology raises many of the same issues as with any introduction of new technology, including concerns about the toxicity and environmental impact of nanomaterials, and their potential effects on global economics, as well as speculation about various doomsday scenarios. These concerns have led to a debate among advocacy groups and governments on whether special regulation of nanotechnology is warranted.

NANO

NNI Research Centers
NNI Research Centers
A highly significant impact of the NNI has been the focused investment by the NNI-participating agencies in the establishment and development of multidisciplinary research and education centers devoted to nanoscience and nanotechnology. NNI agencies have developed an extensive infrastructure of over 60 major interdisciplinary research and education centers and user facilities across the country. Many such centers, with state of the art equipment for nanoscale S&T research, are designated as user facilities and are available to researchers from academia and the private sector, and to scientists at the national laboratories.
NNI Centers and Networks of Excellence
Government funds for nanotechnology research have created some of the most sophisticated nanoscience laboratories in the world. In addition to providing the facilities, the National Nanotechnology Initiative also has created programs to attract researchers across an array of disciplines and to facilitate discoveries.

Research at Center for Functional Nanomaterials (CFN) Centers and networks provide opportunities and support for multidisciplinary research among investigators from a variety of disciplines and from different research sectors, including academia, industry and government laboratories. Such multidisciplinary research not only leads to advances in knowledge, but also fosters relationships that enhance the transition of basic research results to devices and other applications. All agency centers and networks created under NNI auspices over the last seven years are
